• Earlier today The European Shiatsu School was voted 'most interesting Shiatsu School called The European Shiatsu School', in a poll conducted exclusively amongst staff working in the Principal's office at the ESS HQ. This means that the European Shiatsu School receives the coveted 'European Shiatsu School Award For Dedicated Service to Shiatsu'. This is an annual award offered by the European Shiatsu School to any Shiatsu organisation called The European Shiatsu School! It is eagerly anticipated that the school will repeat this outstanding achievement at next years awards.
• Following the earlier announcement concerning the award received by the ESS, it has been suggested that the Principal appears to perhaps have a little too much time on his hands!

• Lotus Publishing recently released a third book in the 'Concise Book' range; called, The Concise Book of Trigger Points, by Simeon Niel-Asher, who is an osteopath renowned for his unique and effective technique for treating frozen shoulder syndrome. This book explains how to treat chronic pain through trigger points. Like The Concise Book of Muscles, this book has extremely clear colour illustrations which makes it especially user friendly for shiatsu practitioners and other bodyworkers. Using trigger points has not hitherto been adopted by shiatsu practitioners to any great extent, but this book may inspire some to look into this area more closely. The book retails for £16.99 and is available through leading bookshops and Amazon.com.
• Lotus Publishing have just released a new anatomy book by Chris Jarmey called 'The Concise Book of the Moving Body'. It covers body mechanics, tissues, bones, joints, muscles; plus a chapter on Myofascial Meridians contributed by Tom Myers, author of Anatomy Trains. It retails for £16.99, but is available from the European Shiatsu School for £12 plus £2.50 p+p.
For those interested in On-Site Bodywork, aka Seated Acupressure Bodywork (as applied in offices or wherever, using a special chair), a comprehensive colour illustrated textbook on the subject is due for release imminently. The author is Andrew Parfitt, who teaches the Seated Bodywork courses for the ESS. Price and availability will be posted here in due course.
