Seated Bodywork Courses

We offer 2-day certificate courses for practitioners of massage, bodywork or beauty therapy if your training included a basic anatomy and physiology qualification.

These courses are held at our London, Marlborough and Eastbourne branches, plus our Walk-In Backrub centres in London. There is a substantial demand for practitioners, and graduates will be offered work at our Walk-In Backrub centres (i.e. Neal's Yard, Charlotte Place, Selfridges, and various offices within large companies. Centres are also planned for Brighton and other areas of the UK). This method involves having the recipient seated in a specialised portable chair.

Other On-Site Massage Courses teach a basic massage routine along with a limited number of acupressure points. The European Shiatsu School On-Site Bodywork course will by contrast, equip you with the most comprehensive resource of techniques, pressure points, professionalism and support.

What's it all about?

On Site massage was developed in the USA in 1986 and has become increasingly popular since then. On-site or Seated Acupressure massage is an immediate stress buster, working to relieve tired aching muscles in the short term and, due to it's ability to relieve stress, maintaining overall health in the long term.
The sequence is based on the techniques of Shiatsu and Anma, traditional Japanese bodywork systems. It incorporates over 60 specific stress release points on the head, neck, shoulders, arms and back, to leave the client relaxed and calm yet energised and alert. The sequence has been developed to produce the maximum beneficial results for the client in just 20 minutes. Received fully clothed it can be given anywhere from the office to shopping centres, exhibitions and parties.

The European Shiatsu School On-Site massage Diploma course has been designed not only to give a thorough training in on-site massage but also an understanding of the basic principles and therapeutic touch of shiatsu. We believe this is of great benefit to the practitioner and therefore to the person receiving the massage.

The training is suitable for massage therapists, body workers or students on a body work course. Previous experience of massage or an anatomy qualification is required as a basic knowledge of Human anatomy and physiology is essential.
Due to the stimulation of several pressure points, this course is not suitable for anyone who is pregnant.

On completion of the 2 days you will receive a certificate of attendance for CPD purposes, if you require a full certificate you will need to do the assessment module
